Do you hate everything you create?

Does looking at your own work depress you?

Are you firmly convinced that your work sucks, no matter how many people tell you otherwise?

Do you feel compelled to apologize for the mere existence of your work?

You're in good company.

The Clique of Suckiness is for those of us who simply cannot, no matter how hard friends may try to convince us otherwise, bring ourselves to believe that most of our work is fit to line a cat box with. For our sort, browsing the Internet can be a terribly depressing experience, as we inevitably run into scores of amateur artists/writers who seem to do better work with one hand tied behind their back than we could on our best day. To add insult to injury, most artists/writers out there, good or bad, often seem to have egos roughly the size of Montana.

The time has come for those of us with less-than-normal self-esteem to stand up and take pride in it! We can say, "I think I suck, and I'm not the only one!" with the greatest modicum of pride we can muster! Whether our self-assessments are accurate or not, we are united in our violent hatred of our own work, and together, we possess solidarity! Well, of a sort. What exactly we will do with all this solidarity is currently something of an unknown, but dropping large, heavy objects on people with big egos is a possibility under consideration.

To be a member of the Clique of Suckiness, you need only:

1. Possess a webpage on which your work is displayed;

and

2. Dislike most of your own work with anything from mild disdain to outright vehemence.

Then fill out the following questions and mail a reply to me, and place a link to the Clique of Suckiness somewhere on your page.

Your name will then be added to the list of members, and you can announce to the world proudly that you are united in your lack of self-esteem.
